這次我們邀請兩組藝術家Kiran Bhumber, Ryan Somerville 以“視覺，聽覺”為出發，在自由人藝術公寓辦一場跨界的演出計畫，一場屬於聽覺跟視覺的表演。

*Modalmix（Kiran Bhumber&Nancy Lee）
Kiran Bhumber 是位出生於溫哥華的音樂家、新媒體藝術家以及教育家。作品主要專注在透過動作和互動間的關係，去探討不可否認的聲音物理本質。這些主題藉由創造出一個互動性的系統，可以在音樂表演及參與式的設備上以追蹤手勢來建立相對應的環境。目前她正參與各項音樂計畫，並在VIVO媒體藝術工作室中教授音樂技術。Kiran在2014年時獲得不列顛哥倫比亞大學的音樂學位，主修為音樂教育以及單簧管。現在也準備於2016年秋季攻讀密歇根大學的媒體藝術學位。
Nancy Lee是互動策展人。身為狂熱的電影製作者，Nancy曾擔任過紀錄片、音樂錄影帶的導演，和實驗電影導演。在早期電影生涯，她尤其狂熱於物體和空間的協商，並進一步具體化其VJ工作以及身臨其境的新媒體藝術裝置和表演。打破只能在舞台上有所互動的框架，Nancy使空間和編曲間的關係概念化。她的作品刺激且活躍了空間，挑釁的聲明我們和周遭環境是無法避免相互連接的。2014年，Nancy在Pendula遇見了她現在的夥伴，也就是Kiran Bhumber，並且一起成為其蓬勃發展的互動新媒體Modalmix的共同創始人。他們曾被選為BC藝術委員會的專案助理（BC Arts Council），帶領Pendula參與溫哥華國際爵士音樂節（Vancouver International Jazz Festival），也曾亮眼於國際電子藝術研討會（International Symposium for Electronic Art）、電聲音樂節（Electro-Acoustic Music Festival），更得到加拿大藝術委員會的支持前往澳洲布里斯班的國際新音樂介面會議（the International Conference New Interfaces for Musical Expression）。

RYAN SOMERVILLE EDUCATION: Doctor of Philosophy, Composition (2014) University of Edinburgh, Edinburgh, Scotland PERMANENT
SUMMARY: My PhD research focused on developing collaborations between artists from different practices in order to expand the musical world by redefining its creative process. Through this work I also sought to explore the experience of music in private and public spaces, and the dissemination of music. Bringing together an interdisciplinary and collaborative team of animators, composers, filmmakers, illustrators, musicians, sculptors, web designers, and writers, the research culminated in De Novo and Sounds In The Haar: Nights In Edinburgh.
ARTISTIC ASSOCIATE, BANFF CENTRE, CANADA (2014, 2015)
My duties as Artistic Associate for Late Fall and Winter Music program at the Banff Centre included curating their regular concert series (over 30 concerts), overseeing production of the concerts, organizing collaborations amongst the participants, and liaising with the participant musicians, program faculty, and staff at the Banff Centre.
